Tigershade's muscles slid easily through the undergrowth as he patrolled the border, loping along the large lake. "Fishriver, you go towards the ThunderClan border. Ravenheart, you wind up towards the RiverClan border. Mark heavily, as there have been scents about." he meowed, authority in his voice. The two warriors nodded and did as they were commanded. Heading closer to the water, lapping at the shore, Tigershade examined the scents. A strong badger scent struck his nose, making him dizzy. He barely dodged the beast's claw as it ran past his ear. Set on edge, the large golden tabby tom streaked along the lake, blinded by his fear. He was aware that he had already crossed into RiverClan and was approaching WindClan, so it was obvious he needed to lure it away. Seeing the river, an idea shot into the young tom's head, making him veer towards the water. Leaping on the farthest stone possible, he caught one last glimpse of the badger as it disappeared underneath the rushing waves, never to breathe again. Gasping, Tigershade staggered a few fox-lengths, not realizing he had crossed the border. Collapsing on the moor, he let the wind ruffle his fur, too tired to make his way back.

Shinefire had been having rotten luck. It rained the previous night, and Shinefire had slipped, practically rolling in it, and was now covered. She had decided to keep running and chasing rabbits, missing most of them, when the mud started to dry. She started heading towards the river, in a foul mood, disappointed that she hadn't caught anything. When she was cleaned up, she decided to head back, when she caught the strong scent of badger. She decided to follow the scent, where it was most prominent. Then she smelled someone else. Someone she knew she wouldn't forget. Tigershade? She raced toward the scent. She saw him and felt her heart thump and a lump grow in her throat. She looked around, making sure there were no other WindClanners around, before running to his side. "Tigershade? Are you okay?"
