Name: Greymask
Gender: Tom
Age: 33 moons
Rank: Medicine Cat
Clan: WindClan
Short description: Large white male with a grey mask
Long description:
Greymask is a large white tom with smooth long fur. His face, tail, and front legs are darkened with a light grey, except on his nose still has flecks of white. The grey on his face literally makes him look like he's wearing a mask, thus he is Greymask. His are a bright blue, almost kind of hazy. He has a white sock for his left paw that stands out against the grey on his lower arms.
Now for his wonderful physique. Like said before, Greymask is a large cat.And forutnately its not all muscle, actually he's just big-boned as there's no way for a clan cat to actually be 'fat'. He has strong legs like all or at least most Windclan members. His claws are also strong and sharp if not a bit thick. His ears are nice pair of grey triangles and in his nose is a almost black-ish color. More like a dark, dark grey really. His tail allows him a great amount of balance thanks to its long length. His whiskers are nice, even length and compliment his rather mad-looking to soft face. (He may look mad sometimes but he isn't usually.)
Personality:
Greymask is a quiet and a bit withdrawn cat. One could call him shy, which is kind of odd for one his size. But he doesn't stutter over his words or just speak quietly, Greymask will actually just give one word answers to others; especially if he doesn't think of them as friends. And yes there is a difference between a clan-mate and a friends and thanks to him being a medicine cat, he has no desire for a mate. But that doesn't mean he won't ask for advice or something especially from other medicine cats. In fact he enjoys talking about medicines and (oddly) poisons. He also likes to listen to the elder's stories despite what others might say. He'll say he likes to know what its like to look through someone else's eyes.
Even if he doesn't talk much, Greymask is actually a fairly kind cat. He won't hesitate to help another and he definitely won't leave someone for dead. He'll use every resource he has in order to help someone no matter if they're sick, injured, or even if their from another clan. He has a sense of justice that allows to see others as they are rather than where they're from. Some think he's wrong, others crazy but he doesn't find anything wrong with his logic. To him a cat is a cat no matter where they're from or where they were born. Also, he doesn't get angry at all very easily. He has more patience that a normal cat ever should have.
History:
Greymask was born to a litter of four in the beginning of new-leaf, one brother and two sisters. An even match. His mother was Rainsong, a bright grey and his father Whiteclaw, a white tom. They were proud parents of their four kits whom they named Greykit, Dovekit, Stormkit, and Shortkit. Unfortunately Greykit's only brother Shortkit was born with a fatal defect; he ended up dieing only minutes after birth. The loss had scarred Greykit's mother but somehow his father was able to overcome the saddness much quicker. As Greykit grew alongside his two sisters, his mother's depression made her shy away from her other kits. So it was up to their father and a neighbor queen to raise them. The neighbor queen was actually their mother's kit-hood friend and had a single kit of her own. She had said her other two died from green-cough.
Greykit and his two sisters along with his neighbor, Bluekit, were inseperable. They would play together constantly and sometimes Bluekit's mother would let them sleep him sleep with them. Just about the time when the four kits were to become apprentices, Stormkit had died. She was ill a short time before with fever and in the end her body was too weak to over-come it. So only three of the kits grew to be -paws.
As an apprentice Greypaw, Bluepaw, and Dovepaw were all still inseperable. There had even been jokes about the three of them sharing the same mentor; they would just not seperate. But even that happiness had been taken from him. It was a time when he and the other two went on a patrol with Whiteclaw and Sharpear, Dovepaw's mentor and Whiteclaw had been Bluepaw's mentor. Greypaw's mentor had allowed him to go along as he humored the fact that the three apprentices never really left eachother's sides. They had been patrolling the borders when they had come across two rogues. It was suppose to be an easy fight, five against two; at least until that two turned to four. Sharpear had told Greypaw to run as fast as he could back to camp and warn the leader. Why he told him that; he feared that the cats were more than they seemed. So Greypaw obeyed, his strong legs carried as fast as they could. When he returned to report; he was racing back to the battle-site with three warriors close behind, including the leader.
When they had arrived, both Whiteclaw and Dovepaw were mortally wounded. Bluepaw had died what had appeared a swift death and Sharpear was the only cat whose wounds didn't look life-threatening. They were able to slay three of the intruders. They tried to rush the surviving cats back to the medicine cat but unfortunately Dovepaw had died along the way and even with the healing herbs working to keep Whiteclaw alive, he too couldn't survive his lack of blood. Greypaw was devistated at the news of both his sister's and his best friend's deaths and then to add his father on top of that... But instead of vowing to gain revenge Greypaw chose a path that would allow him to help those in dire need.
He managed to convince the leader to make him the apprentice of the healer. Thoughts of 'if he had known how to heal in the first place would've probably helped to save his clan-mates', had been his main motivation through his apprenticehood. (Well that and the rather rare dreams of him running alongside his friend and siblings.) It wasn't long until the medicine cat had passed away a little before the former leader, leaving Greypaw to become Greymask. The medicine cat of the clan.
