The sound of droplets sang all around as a light drizzle had chosen to drop itself even though there wasn't a cloud in sight. Moonfire had been just outside the campgrounds, more specifically; lazying about in a patch of fresh spring clovers. She had been there since the strange phenomenon had begun and even a bit before that. But really, it wasn't all that long ago. The silver she-cat stared at the bright blue sky, the sun was hidden behind a nearby tree and yet that tree did nothing to protect her fluffy form from getting drizzled on. And it was belly-first since the she-cat decided to lay on her back.
It wasn't like the she-cat minded, she was after-all on her 'break-time'. She had nothing to do as there were already hunting parties out along with the patrols. So she was basically stuck on guard duty and since she had no apprentice that made her decide to go relax in the moment of peace. Oh how she loved the quiet of peace. Nearby she could hear the quick chirp of a sparrow as it sang. Moonfire was tempted to go check it out but instead was more content to just lay there on her 'bed'. In a way she felt kind of guilty that she was relaxing more than 'guarding' but somehow she felt like she needed it but it would end soon enough. She would get up in the end; patrol around camp, keep a lookout but not yet. Her sudden laziness forced her to stay on that comfy bed of greens for just a little while longer.

Moondapple had been watching Moonfire, for quiet a long time actually, and she put on a warm, bright smile as she approached her. "Hello Moonfire." She meowed, a cheerful look in her blue eyes. Moondapple almost never, NEVER had a cheerful expression on. Never. She looked up at the sky, then let out a silent gasp. She glanced around for a second, she needed to talk to Emberstar about this! Later. She told herself. Right now you're talking with Moonfire. Moondapple turned her attention back to Moonfire, she put on a, this time, fake smile. I hope she didn't notice. She said inside her head, Moondapple finally sat down, she needed to. To keep herself from fidgeting.[/color]

Emberstar bounded in knowing he had a mission. His objective gain a deputy and enjoy his nine lives. Emberstorm briefly ruffled his brown and red pelt and said some what importantly, " I have important news for you Moonfire. You will become deputy of Thunderclan. As a result..." He continued "I will do the ceremony after I return from the Moonpool. I hope that the rest of you can keep the clan running smoothly." He glanced at Moondapple and wispered "Are we leaving soon?"

The silver she-cat had brought her paw to rub away some of the thin rain from her face when she heard a familiar voice. An ear flicked toward the sound and Moonfire found herself rolling over onto her feet to greet the cat. Hello Moondapple, She regarded her medicine cat's rather warm smile; Enjoying the day? When was the last time she had seen her fellow she-cat with such warmth or even that unfamiliar twinkle of cheer in her eyes. Oh how rare that was. Somehow the sight made the warrior feel rather warm inside as well, it was a good thing to see a clan-mate in good spirits.
Moonfire watched the other looked toward the sky and tilted her head slightly at the she-cat's silent gasp. Maybe she had seen an omen? The silver warrior wondered; she would've asked but she felt it not her place to ask such things. When the other had sat down, Moonfire noticed the she-cat's warm smile had returned back to one of fake-ness. Alot of cats had taken to smiling fake smiles. Even if she noticed, the silver warrior said nothing but merely returned the smile with a curious look in her eye. She was about to open her maw to say something but she was interrupted by the appearance of yet another cat. But this time Moonfire had shot straight up to her paw, her legs stiff with a sudden urgency as her leader appeared. Now what had she done to get an audience from both the medicine cat and her leader?!
Before Moonfire could get over her sudden shock, her leader had announced what the silver she-cat could've sworn she heard wrong. She thought she heard him say 'deputy'... No... she heard she was going to become deputy... That couldn't be right... Are you sure? I mean I won't decline but are you sure you want to pick me? Moonfire had said a bit panicky, more shock adding onto her original shock. She cleared her throat, trying to retain her former composure. She sat down, Very well; I shall keep the clan in order in your absense. May Starclan guide your path. Despite her wanting to fluff-up, Moonfire kept her appearance as calm as possible. Even her tail was still against the clovers she sat on.

Emberstorm looked back over his shoulder and meowed "Yes your going to be deputy and I am sure of my choice and may Starclan guide yours as well." He began to stretch again and he flexed his front claws. Emberstar stared at the sky like he expect Starclan would just come down and start talking to him. He thought 'Now that that's done let's see what Moondapple has to say.'

Moondapple put on a fake/real smile. Half and half sort of. She dipped her head to Moonfire, Yes! Emberstar had approved her choice! "Congratulations Moonfire." She said warmly, "You deserve it." Moondapple added after a moment of silence. Moondapple looked up at the sky again before turning all of her attention to Emberstar. "And we can go in a moment Emberstar, patience! There's plenty of time." Moondapple had a glint of playfulness in her blue eyes. What Moondapple was really thinking of was that omen. She'd have to speak privately to Emberstar first, maybe on their way to the Moonpool. You could tell that her attention wasn't fully in the present if you looked very hard into those blue orbs of hers. You really had to look though to see it. Then you had to put those peaces together, first, her fake smile, second, that nervous twitch of her tail. Third, that hard to find look in her eyes. But they were all there, just waiting to be found. Although Moondapple didn't want anybody to find them.

Moonfire could only nod in understanding at her leader's words. She could only think this was all due to Starclan's benevolence. If it was indeed a setting for her by their ancestors Moonfire would gladly accept. Her attention returned to the medicine cat, she too wondered what she had to say. She welcomed the congratulations with a light purr, Thank you Moondapple. She couldn't help but wonder if this shower in the sun had to do something with her being chosen or maybe it was another omen that attracted the medicine cat's attention; perhaps it was just a light shower that managed to sleek down the silver she-cats fur.
When she heard her leader get scolded by Moondapple, she made a mental smile. She would've smiled physically if not for her own stubborness that forced her to look almost emtionless. Of course she expressed herself when she spoke but when she was silent, she looked rather statue-like; minus the occasional turn of the head.

Emberstar smirked at his medicine cat's remark and mewed "Ok Moondapple if you insist." and then he wipped his head around and focused his green eyes on Moonfire's and said "Trust me on this choice as crazy as it seems, I still am convinced your the best option I could have chosen." He began to wonder why Moondapple seemed so twitchy. He thought 'Its almost as if she needs to tell me something. I wonder what it is.'

Moondapple couldn't hold it back any longer, "Emberstar!" She burst out, "Go meet me in my den please!" She turned quickly to Moonfire. "Moonfire, an you help me collect some herbs later, and maybe we can catch something to eat too." Only a fool would think Medicine Cats couldn't hunt or fight. They could if they chose to! In fact, they had to learn the basics of those things. (Kinda short. sorry.)

Emberstar padded off and yowled "I'm, checking the camp real quick and I will be right over." He knew he was acting pushy but now, he was just acting wierd. Emberstar thought 'Yup, my medicine cat thinks I'm crazy just great.' He quickly started to look around the camp and padded off to meet Moondapple.

Moonfire had practiacally jumped by Moondapple's outburst. It wasn't that unexpected with how impatient the young leader was acting. When Moondapple looked to her, the silver she-cat straightened instantly. It was a bad, or good, habit of hers that occured whenever she was taken by suprise. Thankfully she wasn't puffed out like some wild dandelion. Alright. She answered her clan's medicine cat. She watched as her leader went off, she wanted to join him in checking on the camp but she would do that later after she helped Moondapple. After all a trip to speak with StarClan was more important.
((Sorry that took me so long.))

(Its ok) Emberstar was unerved by his medicine cat. He knew he need to act less rash as he finished by checking the nursery. He bounded into the medicine cat's den and looked around for Moondapple. Instead, he saw Moonfire and mewed "Good luck." and he entered the den.
