Secretstar turned, she sniffed the air, then dropped into a crouch. She waited.... Waited for the right moment.... to...... Secretstar leapt up into the still air, and landed on the mouse that had been mocking her. Secretstar didn't many mice here on the moor, a lot of rabbits... But not many mice. She buried earth over the mouse and left it there to pick up later. She traveled on until she could hear the waters of the gorge. Secretstar now sniffed the air deeply for any signs of cats or prey... She dropped back down and started running. She spotted a grayish rabbit just sitting there. Secretstar gave chase, she chased it and chased it.... Where was this rabbit leading her? It had probably passed it's burrow already... It suddenly stopped, turned and disappeared into something.... She got closer to were it disappeared, it was between two rocks. It was big enough for a cat to fit into. Secretstar's curiousity was getting the better of her... Don't be squirrel brained! She told herself. And padded slowly past there and started on back to the gorge.

SHINEFIRE Shinefire had watched her leader. She was glad she decided not to go down the hole. Shienfire hurried and caught up to her leader. "Hello Secretstar!" The young she-cat said, her voice high and full of good things. She showed her youth and naive in her eyes. She still acted like an apprentice. Sparkstream grudgingly decided that youth wasn't as bad as he let on. He was just jealous at her excitement. Shinefire matched Secretstar's steps. "Wonderful day isn't it!" She smiled happily. The sun was warm on her pelt, making her even happier than usual. The wind buffeted her from all sides. She loved the moor. It was her home.

Secretstar's eyes narrowed for a second then, realizing who it was, they returned to their normal look. She smiled, it looked slightly fake, like it didn't look right on her. Secretstar looked at Shinefire, then at Sparkstream. She tilted her calico head at Sparkstream, then looked back at Shinefire. "Shinefire?" She meowed, "Would you like to lead us in a hunting patrol?" Secretstar still had that slightly fake smile planted on her face. She wanted really bad to go back to that hole.... Really bad. She could check it out later with Russetstorm... But.... She really wanted to do it now!! Stop being like this... She told herself. It's probably nothing. So she kept walking, keeping her head up high, keeping her pace matched with Shinefire's, waiting for the young Warrior to answer.

SHINEFIRE Shinefire's eyes flashed. She nodded eagerly and scented the air. Heather, marigold, rabbit, thrush... All were distant or old. The prey scents were stale. She caught a scent, one that wasn't stale. It was fresh, they had been there less than a dawn before. The stench of rogue. Her nose wrinkled and she almost gagged. "I smell rogue." A slight growl sounded in her throat. Sparkstream lagged behind the two she-cats. Shinefire looked to her leader. "Should we investigate?"

Secretstar narrowed her eyes again... She thought about it for a moment before answering. "Yes, It would be unwise not to look into it." She flicked her tail flicked angrily, Secretstar hated rogues! "Please lead the way, Shinefire." She said in monotone. Why can't you stupid worthless rogue cats respect our boundaries? Secretstar sniffed the air, there was some rogue scent there.... Secretstar wanted to go ahead of them and follow the scent on her own. That would be unwise too.... She told herself. Rabbit-brain. Secretstar stepped back to give Shinefire room.
