WHIPLASH Whiplash enjoyed a good hunt now and again. He knew it kept him from snapping, which he often almost did. Whiplash didn't like Jewel, the Nightshade leader. He didn't want anything to do with Jewel. But she was his leader and he was forced to listen to her. He stopped himself from rolling his eyes at just the thought of her. He stopped as the scent of a bird upwind caught his nose. He turned and stalked toward it. The perfect hunter. The bird, a pretty blue jay, was in range. The crack of a footstep scared the creature of and Whiplash cursed whoever had startled it. "Thanks for scarin` away my dinner." He scowled at the cat figure. He would've used the feathers for his nest and now that the bird was gone he would have to settle for plain old moss.

Jewel walked up to Whiplash. She glared at him. Jewel thought about saying sorry, but she doesn't like to show her feelings. Jewel whiped Whiplash in the face with her slick tail. She hissed at him. Jewel knows Whiplash doesn't like how she is leader. "With that kind of hunting you'll never catch a crawling beetle," said Jewel.

WHIPLASH A deep growl sounded from his throat. Whiplash stopped himself and sat up straight. He scowled at her critique. "And you could do better?" He challenged behind narrowed hazel eyes. "You try it while someone is stomping around, scaring off every piece of prey form here to WindClan." He spat at her feet. Whiplash felt his lip curl up in a snarl. This she-cat was stupid to challenge him. And perhaps, he was stupid to challenge her.

"Are you sure you're up to the challenge," Jewel said. "Maybe I should have given this a little more thought," Jewel mumbled to herself. She was great at hunting rodents and other small land creatures, but hadn't had much practice on birds. Jewel doesn't like to show of in front of Whiplash, mostly because she has a crush on him."Why did I challenge him," Jewel mumbled "Should I give in." Jewel had been sorry she did this, but she didn't want to give up in front of Whiplash.

WHIPLASH He rolled his eyes at her mumbling. He couldn't hear her but he assumed she was cursing his existence. "Let's hunt." He said. Whiplash led the way, silently, to where he knew a nest of robins lived. He stopped and nodded at her. "Go catch one. Prove that your the better cat." He smirked at her and waited for her to catch one. Or miss them. The silver tom made himself scarce, watching her from a distance.

Jewel quickly pounced. She started to climb up the rough tree bark. Jewel was slowly slipping down the moss. She didn't let that stop her though. She quietly walked across the branch were the robins nest. Jewel sat in the shadows, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. The robin turned its back toward Jewel. Jewel suddenly pounced at the mother robin. It fell to the ground as Jewel climbed down the tree to get it. She raced to the robin, picking it up by the neck. Jewel aproched Whiplash and dropped the bird in front of his paws. Jewel had turned away rememboring about not to show off in front of Whiplash. She got up on a rock and sighed. She took a small glimps back at Whiplash. She sighed again as she looked up at the eggs she left in the nest.

WHIPLASH "That was an...interesting technique." Whiplash knew that the kill was sloppy and hurried and all-in-all unimpressive. The father robin landed on the branch and called for his mate. Whiplash sent a look to Jewel meaning 'Be quiet and still and I'll show you how it's done.' The silver tom climbed up up the tree swiftly. He was silent in his motions. Extending his claws, he leaped at the bird. His bird didn't fall to the ground. He slid down the tree wondering why Jewel was acting so funny. "See? Try it like that next time."

Jewel rolled her deep blue eyes. "You have to be perfect, don't you"Jewel mumbled. She glared at Whiplash. She looked at the sun as it rose. Jewel picked up the mother robin. She glanced back at Whiplash. Jewel walked away, bringing the robin back to her dark den.

WHIPLASH Whiplash snickered and followed Jewel back to her den. His hazel eyes flickered. "And as a matter of fact, I DO have to be perfect." He said, flicking her on the shoulder with his tail. His eyes hardened for a moment. "I need to know something." He said. "Will you promise to tell me the truth?" He asked looking her in the eyes.

"What do you mean?" Jewel asked Whiplash. Jewel lowered her head to the ground, "Oh, yes" she softly spoke. Jewel took a deep breath then exhaled. "Well, the truth is.......uh.....I...I...have....a..crush on you," Jewel said. "Do, uh........you like me?" she wondered. Jewel glanced over at Whiplash waiting for an answer.

WHIPLASH Whiplash's eyes were wide with surprise. That's not what he was wondering at all. The usual cool composure was replaced with one of panic. "Uh...uh..." He stammered. "I don't know, I guess I could." He felt numb. "Maybe..." He thought he didn't like her but, maybe, the feeling toward her wasn't hate or dislike, but something else. His head was still cloudy with her sudden burst of truth and he slightly regained his composure. "I'll get back to you on that." He said turning and leaving.

Jewel turned away and left to her den. The only thing she thought about was Whiplash answering her question. Jewel sighed, then she fell asleep on some nice, soft moss. She suddenly woke up to a fox attacking her den. It was trying to steel the mother robin Jewel caught. It snapped at Jewel several times. "Help!!!" Jewel screamed. The fox was getting closer to Jewel as she kept screaming for help. The fox was getting closer to biting Jewel every second. It's teeth were showing and it's black eyes were glaring at Jewel.

WHIPLASH Whiplash heard her cries and darted down from the tree he was sitting in. He caught the fox's attention and had it chase him away from her. He stumbled at the fox grabbed his shoulder and tossed him around. Whiplash pushed himself up, his shoulder bleeding freely. He launched himself at the fox's face. His claws dug into the creatures flesh and managed to flip it over despite his general lack of bodyweight and mass. The fox stood up and ran butnot without growling at Whiplash before leaving. Whiplash stood up, his new wound bleeding and old ones aching. He stumbled along back to Jewels den. "I took care of the fox." He said, licking his shoulder wound, which was among the worst.
